A durational performance.

The performer enters the space and begins packing and labelling the collection of boxes whilst answering questions posed to him from the video. He converses with the pre-recorded people and attempts to answer the questions on behalf of their past selves.

A stop gap, a preparation for the future with the memories of the past. It’s about moving on. It’s about growing up. It’s about making the best of a bad situation.

28 Years, 7 Months, 12 Days, 2 Hours & 36 Minutes ago, a few things were established; me included. Now, everything is constantly changing. And everyone is moving. Amongst the brown tape and corrugation of cardboard boxes, I sit answering questions as best I can on behalf of your former self.
They will be answered.
Labelled.
And packed away.

Est. 1983 was performed at Blank Space as part of Emergency Accommodation following the closure of greenroom in May 2011 after it was announced that the theatre was not inlcuded in Arts Council England’s National Portfolio.
